Did you know that the average person consumes 23 teaspoons of sugar a day?

90% of the added sugar you eat comes from processed foods. Cut back on sweetened beverages like soda, fruit drinks, coffees and energy drinks, and also dessert like cookies, cake and pastries will drastically reduce your sugar intake.

Healthy foods like fruits, veggies, and plain yogurt contain a healthy amount of sugar, so no need to cut them out of your diet.

Switching to black coffee and instead sweetening it with cinnamon, nutmeg, or pumpkin is a great alternative to your usual sugary frappuccino.

A quick guide to reading labels:

– Don’t purchase snacks with more than 12 grams of sugar per serving

– Stick to eating just 1 serving size, otherwise you are eating twice the sugar
