Seasonal fruits and vegetables – March!

March has various fruits and veggies in season, with this month split between winter and spring! These fruits and veggies are at their peak, not only in flavor but also the cheapest and freshest on the market right now.

Artichokes – Contain the antioxidant silymarin which is known for protective properties against heart disease and helps also helps your liver! Artichokes contain 10 grams of fiber along with vitamin C, folate, and potassium!

Spinach – Packed full of fiber, folate, and vitamin K, spinach also contains the antioxidant lutein, which is a powerful booster for your skin and eyes!

Asparagus – Rich in folate, fiber, iron, vitamin C and beta-carotene!

Kumquats – Did you know that you can eat the rind on a kumquat? They are a great source of vitamin C.

Grapefruit – Full of vitamin A and vitamin C, they work great as a snack or in a spring salad!

Head to your local farmer’s market this weekend to pick up some of your favorite fruits and veggies!
