Dr. L. Richard Van Meter
MD, FCCP
Dr. Van Meter is a well-respected physician who has practiced medicine for over 35 years. After receiving his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine in 1973, he earned his internal medicine residency and pulmonary fellowship at UCLA-Harbor General Hospital. Dr. Van Meter served as the Chief of Staff at Ireland Army Hospital while in the armed forces. The American Board of Internal Medicine certified physician is a past Chief of Medicine at both Westminster Hospital and Huntington Beach Hospital, as well as a prior member of the Board of Trustees at the latter institution.
In addition to his staff positions at Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital and UCI Medical Center, Dr. Van Meter also serves on the Board of Directors of St. Michael’s Abbey and Mary’s Shelter, works on the medical school admission selection committee at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine and is a fellow in the College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Van Meter has been consistently recognized by the Orange County Medical Association as a “Physician of Excellence.”
Dr. James M. Weiss
MD, FCCP
After earning his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Weiss practiced medicine for over 30 years. He has been listed as Castle Connolly Top Doctors for 10 consecutive years. He is a highly regarded physician who completed his internal medicine residency at University of Massachusetts, his pulmonary fellowship under the aegis of Dr. Kenneth Moser, the late world-renowned lung expert at UCSD and is board certified in both internal medicine and diseases of the chest. He also is a fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians.
Besides sharing his knowledge with future doctors as an associate clinical professor of medicine at University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine, Dr. Weiss is a past member of the Board of Directors of Temple Bat Yahm, Newport Beach, serves on the Board of Directors of Jewish Federation and Family Services of Orange County and is also a member of the Vital Aging Panel at Hoag Hospital, an initiative to improve the health of seniors in Orange County.
